One of our favorite spots to recommend is the Lone Jack Battlefield Museum and Soldier’s Cemetery. It’s a historical site that honors the Battle of Lone Jack during the Civil War, and we always find the exhibits and artifacts to be fascinating. Plus, the cemetery is a beautiful tribute to the soldiers who fought and died there.
We also love Powell Gardens, a massive botanical garden that’s just gorgeous! You can explore it on foot or by tram and see flowers and plants from all over the world. They even have events throughout the year like concerts, art shows, and workshops.
If you’re into antiques, we highly recommend the Brass Armadillo Antique Mall. It’s a fun way to spend an afternoon browsing through cool finds from over 100 vendors selling all kinds of vintage and antique items. There are also many other close by small towns with a multitude of antiquing options.
And after a day of exploring, we can’t wait to welcome you back to our bed and breakfast for a relaxing evening. We’ll help you plan out your next day’s adventures and share some of our favorite local restaurants and bars for some good eats and drinks.
