About Our B&B near Kansas City
We are Karl and Rebecca Darley, your onsite innkeepers, and we welcome you to Walnut Waters Bed & Breakfast. Karl is a retired carpenter, and I am a registered nurse. As a carpenter, Karl’s work spanned between framing custom houses to working in the high-rises in Chicago. Karl’s love of woodworking in his shop and woodcarving are his real passion…he loves wood. My nursing career started in the emergency room, and most recently I was the school nurse for K-8th graders…a perfect blend of nursing and mothering. Between us, we have a very large family with seven children and sixteen grandchildren.
Our love for entertaining, good food, nature and meeting new people sparked our long-time dream to own a bed and breakfast. All that we told that we were thinking of embarking on this venture said that they could not think of two people who would be more perfect innkeepers. But truly we are really just down-to-earth people, who would love to share a bit of what makes us happy with others.
